"But seek first the Kingdom of God..."

I received a letter from a priest friend a couple of weeks ago and tucked in it was a funeral announcement for an elderly parishioner with this written on the top, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Mt. 6:33)

I did not know this woman but I was struck by the verse and it remained in the back of my mind. Then last week, we received word from Casey's new firm that they will postpone everyone's start date until October 2010. This obviously threw a wrench in our plans to move to DC at the end of the summer. As we were sitting there trying to figure out what to do, I suddenly remembered the verse and it became clear that message was meant for us.

So, as of right now we have no idea where we are going or what we are doing, but we are confident something will work out. Casey has been applying to jobs in several different fields and we have friends all over the country on the lookout for anything that might be a good fit. We are certainly not the only ones facing something like this right now and it serves as a reminder of how fleeting things like money, big jobs, and fancy houses really are. (but I am still really looking forward to having a fancy house someday....)

On a lighter note here are some recent pics of the kids.

Hi Woman,
Oh my goodness. Well, you know I may be praying that some doors open up for a job here! I miss you all so much. I will be praying that God's ideal place for you will be made very clear to you all.
